Demonstrating commitment – shouldering responsibility

We firmly believe that business success and social responsibility go hand in hand. Which explains why Schenck Process is involved in many different areas of social activity and is demonstrating that responsibility is a fixed element of our corporate strategy. By specifically encouraging young people, assisting the needy and getting involved in dynamic initiatives, we want to fully shoulder this responsibility.

Develop today the engineers of the future.

Helping to develop young minds and a passion for science and engineering, in co-operation with the Forscherwerkstatt (a German Engineering Society project), Schenck Process are lead funding contributors to the Goetheschule Darmstadt’s initiative to make science and engineering accessible to school children. For the wider scholastic society, children from local Darmstadt schools are invited to undertake a two-week long practical training programme designed to let young adults experience life within a modern and future-orientated engineering company.

On an annual basis, Schenck Process also hosts a "Kid’s Day" for the children of all employees during which they can not only see where their parents work but also interact with products and their peers.

Supporting Darmstädter Tafel

Fresh foods are a real treat for the people who rely on Darmstädter Tafel. To make these little luxuries reality, last Christmas Schenck Process donated €3000 on behalf of all its employees for the purchase of a new chilled counter to help make a difference to people in need.

Since then a donation box has also been set up in the Schenck Process reception area and the company will regularly pass on all the donations received to Darmstädter Tafel. Starting in July 2011, Schenck Process has pledged for an initial period of three years to support the charity with a donation of €3000 a year. The money will be used to run and insure a refrigerated truck to transport donated staple foods to the charity's office.

Schenck Process trainees regularly help with the distribution of food for a day too. In doing this, they're not just helping the charity's team of volunteers, they're also getting an insight into a world which is very different from theirs – a key personal experience and opportunity for enrichment.

Helping out and spreading joy - not just at Christmas

Christmas is a time for giving. And we all like to give to organisations helping the needy around the globe. There are often people on our own doorstep who need our help, it's just that we don't see them. We are also doing our bit in this area by making donations and giving gifts which help to spread a little joy.
